With Fotheringhay Furnishings all pieces for sale have been previously ‘loved’ so don’t expect showroom finishes to surfaces. By that I mean they could have dents, scrapes, brush marks and patina in places, but all in keeping with their character. This only adds to their charm and individuality. The flat packed world may be fine for some, but my pieces deserve to live on a little longer and celebrate the durability of wood! If you have a colour theme to your room, a certain look you are trying to obtain, or perhaps a piece of your own that does not fit in, maybe I could help offer a solution. Chalk paints from Annie Sloan offer a variety of effects, but if a more contemporary feel is what is required, why not explore the vast pallets and options on offer by quality paint producers such as Farrow & Ball or Little Green. Also I am always on the look out for new items of stock for new retail projects, so if you have a piece of furniture you no longer want do get in touch, I may just take it off your hands and save you a trip to the tip, and make a reasonable offer! I am always looking for antique furniture!
We also stock an eclectic mix of decorative antiques that are on display at our concession at St Martins Antiques Center, Stamford along with a selection of our furniture. All viewings at the workshop are strictly by appointment only due its location and access on a working farm. Items can be reserved for up to 7 days, but an appointment must be arranged as soon as practicable after reservation please. All Items are sold as seen. Payment is by cash, card or by on occasion by arrangement bank transfer (details upon request only and payment must be confirmed before any exchange of goods.)
Deliveries: No items for sale include delivery. Collection from the workshop is preferred. Larger items can be delivered but price is depending on location. A maximum radius of 20 miles from the workshop our norm but please ask. For deliveries much further afield, you are welcome to arrange a courier, but please be aware, items are not packaged or packed for transport so make your courier aware prior to this, and also have them contact me direct to arrange a collection time. No items will be posted. Deliveries are to ground floors only , and through one door. Please make sure there is access, and that the purchased item fits as we accept no responsibility for this. Deliveries are mostly carried out by one person (me!!), so please for larger items assistance may be required !
