Description: An absolutely stunning piece of craftmanship. Simple elegant lines and form, strong construction with great colour and patination with just marks as one would expect commensurate with age. Dating from the mid 18th Century (1740-60), this mahogany chair displays all the best attributes of the CHIPPENDALE style and i feel it very well could be!! Newport style in pattern and form, from the elegant top rail and the lattice serpentine carved back splat to the sumptuous shaped arms with carved scroll grips to the supporting Queen Anne carved front legs with pad feet, this is every bit a chair that commands a closer look. The original drop in seat frame has had a new pad with a rich luxurious feel velvet Clarke & Clarke Alvar Sand cover.
